The recent tragedy in Minneapolis, where two innocent children—an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old—lost their lives in a Catholic school shooting and 17 others were injured, has once again shaken the heart of America. As the world watches in sorrow, my heart as a gospel artist, prophet, and Christian leader is heavy with grief.

No child should ever leave home for school and never return. No parent should have to bury a son or daughter because of preventable violence. Schools are meant to be sanctuaries of knowledge, growth, and hope—not battlegrounds where futures are stolen.
I stand with the people of the United States in this dark hour, and I send my deepest condolences to the grieving families, the wounded survivors, and every community shaken by this tragedy. My prayers are with you.
But my heart also carries a burdened plea. America cannot continue down this same road, where the cycle of shootings continues almost without pause. Too often, we later learn that shooters had untreated medical conditions or hidden mental health struggles. This is a warning we cannot keep ignoring.

I therefore call on President Donald Trump and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to implement stronger and wiser strategies in the regulation of firearms. It is not enough to check for age or gender—what must be prioritized are thorough background investigations, criminal record checks, and crucially, medical and mental health evaluations of every potential buyer.
“It’s better for the governor of Minneapolis to implement a new strategy as in thoroughly checking back records, criminal records and medical reports of buyers irrespective of their age or gender, to be assured they’re not harmful or dangerous to the public. Because it appears almost every single shooting out there in the U.S. is either the shooter had medical issues or was mentally impaired.”
These are not just policies—they are lives. Every law passed or ignored has the power to save or destroy futures. Mr. President, Governor Walz, the world is watching, and history will remember the choices made in this moment.

As a man of faith, I also urge America not only to legislate but to seek healing at the spiritual level. Guns may be the weapon, but brokenness, pain, and untreated wounds of the soul often pull the trigger. It is time to combine faith, policy, and compassion in order to restore safety to America’s children.
My prayer is this: May God comfort every broken heart, strengthen every wounded soul, and give wisdom to America’s leaders. May this tragedy be remembered not only for its pain but as a prophetic turning point for a safer, stronger, and united nation.
